WHY EASTER IS THE BEST

I love Easter. Easter is great. As a non-religious person, it's (for me) a day dedicated to eating chocolate and those are the type of days I love best. Because Easter is appreciated, but not as much as Christmas is, I've made a list of 10 reasons why Easter is the best. (Spoiler alert: as with Christmas, I love Easter mostly because of the food).

1. Chocolate
Obviously I had to start with this one, it's secretly what we all think about when we think about Easter. There's something extra appealing about chocolate in the shape of an egg. I swear it tastes better that way.

2. The Smell of Warm Hot Cross Buns
Is there any better smell in the world that hot cross buns heating up in the toaster? No. Is there anything better than warm hot cross buns covered with melted butter? No.

3. Hot Cross Buns Themselves
I know they're basically the same as regular old tea cakes, but I get excited every year for the return of the hot cross bun. I could probably live off them (plus they count towards your five-a-day).

4. That Spring Feeling
You know what I'm talking about, that happy, fresh, warm feeling you get at Springtime when the weather's good but you can't put it into words.

5. Easter Books
Every year since we were little, my mum has got us a book for Easter as well as an Easter egg, and every year I'm more excited for the book that for the egg. My mum always buys me fantastic books and my Easter book is one of the best things about today. (This year's Easter books pictured above).

6. No Work
I should be at work today but it's shut so I have the day off and that is a wonderful thing.

7. Easter 2006
Because that was the year Easter was on my 9th birthday and it was the best day ever. FUN FACT. Easter 2017 is also going to be on my birthday (and I'm going to be 20 WHAT).

8. Chocolate (Again)- Specifically Mini Eggs
Mini Eggs are my favourite chocolate ever (alongside Chocolate Orange- see above picture).

9. Easter Holidays
Two weeks off college, woooo!

10. Better Weather (Hopefully)
We've recently had a couple of really nice, really warm, proper Spring days, followed by a week of cold and bad weather each time. The weather should hopefully pick up soon, but saying that it's a full-blown thunder storm as I write this.

Happy Easter!

OUTFIT OF THE DAY- 16/04/15

I wore this out to dinner on my 18th birthday and it has already become one of my favourite outfits, I can see myself wearing this a fair few times as the weather gets warmer.

I wore this outfit with a plain black cardigan and my black heeled Juju Jelly shoes, and also with some simple black and silver earrings and rings. I decided to go simple with jewellery, but I'd also wear this outfit with long precious stone necklaces. In terms of clothing additions, I also think this outfit would look really great with a white cropped top and a chunky-knit cardigan.

Outfit:
Skirt- Mango (in Pearsons) (over a year old)
Cropped top- Topshop
Tights- Marks and Spencers

CLEAN AND FRESH

I try a lot of scented candles in a variety of scents, but I always find myself coming back to the fresher, cleaner scents, or vanilla. Spring is the perfect time for these types of scents, so I've complied a list of four of my all-time favourites (there's something about white coloured candles that guarantees they'll smell good).

Fluffy Towels
Small Jar- around £8
My brother gave me this candle for my last birthday, and I used the whole thing up in just over a month (that's the fastest I've ever used up a whole candle). This is a scent that I don't think I could ever get sick of, it's the epitome of clean scents, smelling kind of soapy but in a good way. This candle literally smells like its name suggests, and makes your room smell lovely and clean; I feel relaxed using this candle.

Clean Cotton
Sampler Votive- around £2
I've always found Clean Cotton to be one of the more popular scents, and I can really see why. It has a scent I recognise but can't place, it's as clean as the name suggests, with a hint of floral in there as well. I'm currently sitting at my desk just smelling it and I can't get enough of it, I think it's possibly my favourite of the list.

Soft Blanket
Sampler Votive- around £2
Soft Blanket is not as fresh a scent as the others, but still qualifies as being on this list. It's hard to describe, but it's more of a darker vanilla scent but without being too dark and spicy (if you get what I mean- which you probably don't). I'm struggling to describe it because it's completely unique, but it's one I'd be inclined to light on a summer evening in the garden.

Ikea Vanilla Candle
95p
For a 95p candle, the scent is amazing. It has such a strong scent, my whole room smells of vanilla without me even having to light this candle. Vanilla is my go-to scent, it's one you can never go wrong with, and one where I can have the candle lit for a long time without getting sick of the scent.

OUTFIT OF THE DAY- 28/03/15

Sticking a quick note up here to say that I've finally made a blog twitter, only a few months after I decided that it was about time I did. My twitter is @Rozoid97 - drop us a tweet 'hello'.

This is my outfit of the day from yesterday, when it was slightly hotter and not raining, featuring my faithful black Topshop Jamie jeans (though it is time I got another pair, these ones are looking a little no-longer-black).

Camisole tops were my new favourite clothing discovery of last summer. This one is from Next, and is actually more of a plum/berry colour than it looks in the pictures (UK weather is impossible to work with when picture taking). Berry is one of my favourite colours, so I couldn't pass this top by when I saw it, despite it being a little too early in the year for camis yet. One of the best features of this top is the adjustable straps, so useful as cami tops are often a little too lose.

It's simple, but it works. (I also think it would work well with blue jeans). I style this with white converse and a thick, oatmeal-coloured cardigan.

The top is still available online from Next.co.uk for £12. Next are such an underrated brand, but they're one of my favourite high street shops.
